From Steven Taylor. Hi folks. Seriously, you should always absolutely insure that you back up everything and as often as you can. I use a braille note purely for back up purposes, a simple process of keeping what I want on my Mac to be on another computer. In my case, I have several disks where back up stuff is stored, it really is the best and only way. Now if your hard drive really crashes, may I suggest rather then spending huge amounts of dollars getting it serviced, you seriously consider a new hard drive altogether, it is cheaper in most cases for a new and more importantly already formatted and working hard drive to be fitted in the overwhelming majority of most cases. You can simply buy the drive yourself and then get the technical staff to fit it, this works out cheaper in most cases then them getting out one drive, then finding another and then putting the new hard drive in the computer. Hard drives are extremely cheap these days less than 300 dollars and available in many stores. Some to consider are. Harvy Norman, Good Guys, Retrovision, Tandi also known as Dick Smith, leading edge, Clive peters, jb highly, office works, better electronics, and others. One call to 1234 and yes they are a rip off but one call to 1234 will also give you computer stores in your local area. Another thing you might like to try is google. Type in something like this. Technical computer stores Melton Victoria Australia. Now wait a minute. On your google page there is a radio button for pages from Australia only so select this button and perform the search again. Tip, if you have a tape recorder or other note taking device get your screen reader to speak the text of the websites spelling them out if necessary. Another tip. Insure when you phone the store you speak with the right technical expert for your inquiry in fact, seek a second opinion from another technical staff member of the same store whilst you are on the telephone.
