Aw so sorry to hear about this Naqui! I heard something similar has
happened to Odette. Things are becoming so regimented it's taking the fun
out of the game a bit and creating unnecessary divides in what is after
all a very small community of players.
All the best with getting somewhere with your case to be able to play at the
Nationals!

HI all,
hope you're all well.
I was very excited to play in the nationals just like most of you. I had
registered and even paid the entry fee.
last week, I heard that the nationals will now only be open to British
nationals and those that satisfy related requirements.
not only had I never heard of something like this before but the fact that
it was being applied retrospectively and last-minute felt really unfair.
instead of making the sport more inclusive, the LTA seems to be taking it in
a different direction and I am incredibly disappointed as you can imagine.
I am still fighting the case on the grounds of them applying the ruling
retrospectively but I doubt that will change anything. even if it does, it
might only be for this year as I still need 5 more years before I can get a
British passport.
this is really disappointing news and if I am not able to make it to the
nationals as will most likely be the case, best of luck and hope to see you
all around in other tournaments.
have a good one folks!
With best regards,
Naqi Haider Rizvi
