hm ph: 520-586-2244 Two of three previous SNe in M101 have reached about magn 
12, easily reachable in a 6-inch reflector. The new SN in M101 has already 
risen a couple magnitudes to magn. 14.8 according to a nice image by Bob Koff 
(bob@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx ). Too bad it's in such a bad location in the 
sky for us mid-latitude people. In particular for me it's in the Tucson sky 
glow...
