Hi, All.
A correspondent of mine has asked me about a mirror that was formerly in
the possession of Bob Goff, and also about a classic old scope which
is/was here in Arizona. I give the full text of the email below. If
anyone knows anything about these matters, could you please email me
(rogerc@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx) about them?

Thanks,
Roger Ceragioli

I thought I'd send you two mysteries that I've tried to figure out over
the last couple of years - to no avail, I might add! Since they relate
to Tucson, I thought you might have some info, ideas, thoughts, etc. I
hope you don't mind me bringing them to your attention, but as they
relate to old instruments, I thought you might be interested.

The first relates to the 6" scope which was discussed on the "oldscope"
list recently, the one being offered by Skinner in their latest
auction. It turns out that this scope had at least one sibling, a 10".
It too was supposedly etched with something like "RWP; Fred". The owner
of the OTA had the mirror sent to Dick Buchroeder who turned it over to
Bob Goff for either testing or aluminizing. Unfortunately, this was
just prior to Bob's passing and the mirror got lost.

I know there was an estate sale there in January '05 and thought that
either you might have gone or heard something about a mirror like this
turning up.

The second mystery relates to a Cassegrain/Newtonian that is supposedly
owned by a member of the Tucson community. Terri Lapin in the amateur
group had given me some info as to whom to get in touch with (the prior
owner, I think) but he could not recall whom he had sold it to.

This is a large instrument (12") on a large fork mount, with sort of a
boxy stand/pier. I'd love to buy this instrument, as it was one of the
ones made by the Fred Henson company of Pasadena, using designs by
Russell Porter. (Attached is an old photo.)

If you have or ever come across any info on either of the above and
could think to give me a heads up, I'd be very appreciative!!
