Actually all new LED street lights so far installed in Flagst= aff are full
spectrum and virtually impossible to filter out. Our local ast= ronomers and
dark skies advocates are working with LED manufacturers to inc= lude amber
filters with the street lights to make them more like the old lo= w pressure
sodium lighting which can be filtered out but unfortunately are = no longer
available.

OPT has a video on You-tube showing how the = process the image using

Photoshop and/or Lightroom where they talk that the= images were taken thru
narrow band filters from an RV park right next to I= -5 in light polluted
southern California. I was impressed but then I=E2=80= =99m easily impressed
by pretty astronomical images.

I wonde= r if the shift away from incandescent lights to LEDs is going to

make filte= ring out light pollution easier? Most LEDs I'm familiar with
havea fairly = narrow output band which makes them candidates for narrow
bandnotch filter= s. Sort of like the sodium filters we=E2=80=99ve been
usingfor years.

I received an email from OPT Telescopes in = California announcing their
"Triad" filter. The email claims = "you can now image under the brightest
city lights with color c= ameras." Supposedly the Triad filter allows only
H=C3=A1, H=C3= =A2, and O3 to pass through, so now I can image from under

astreetlight.>> I would give one a try, but they are pricy - $375 for a 1.25
inc= h and $775

for a 2 inch. Does anyone have any knowledge or exp= erience with these?

it seems too good to be true.
