Now about 1/2 covered again but moved to south and west. Still lots of clouds to the east and less to the north but the sky in-between is less blue and has high clouds mixed in. Was cloudy all afternoon and evening long with showers I could see on the rim and to the east. Can't see the west real well with a hill in the way. As of right now 10am there is a little bit of clouds on the rim. This is not something that happens normally. Most of the time, once the afternoon clouds start their build up in the mountains it lasts well into the night and include lightening shows and precipitation. Last night was an unusual happening, but keep in mind it can. The unfortunate problem is to predict this ahead of time and I don't know how to do that, nor does there seem to be weather forecasters that know how. Just doesn't seem to be enough data to build a model, or could there be just toooo much data? Still it is good to have someone like Stan to give us up to the minute weather reports. Thanks Stan. Observing tonight - I'll be watching to see what transpires before making a decision. Regardless it would probably be later rather than earlier. Based on that, several of us decided to forego Cherry last night. Then Stan wrote to say it had cleared off and was pretty decent. Ah, that's life! Andrew, let's watch these satellite images during the day, especially early afternoon, to see if anything "pops up."
