The Quadrantid shower is one of my favorites. The peak interval is pretty short, so nothing much great happens until about an hour before peak. Then you start getting these amazingly long, relatively slow (for meteors) bright streaks coming out of the north and going over much of the sky. The rate is about one good one every 5 minutes, or shorter. It is a really unique shower, so try to see it at the predicted peak if you can.
