I finally got my 6nm Ha filter for the Canon 60 DA. I tested it tonight and I
think it has great potential. In this field you can easily see Bernard's Loop,
M42, the Horse Head and Flame and I believe that's Rigel on the top right with
a lot of dust under it.
The process is a little complicated but in short, you split the color image
into red, green and blue mono images and then process and stack the reds, which
is where the hydrogen is.

I didn't have much time tonight and I just wanted to test this so I took one,
guided 30 minute image and another 2 minute image and combined them to tone
down the core of M42. This is very noisy but if I don't run out of time I would
love to get several hours on this before Orion disappears until next winter.

This looks a lot better on a computer than a phone :)
