This is simply amazing…. At least to me.
A 200mm lens on a DSLR, and a total of 3 10sec exposures.
And it is NOT his first one….
And it appears to be confirmed, including a spectrogram.
I surely hope that I am not the only one who is “impressed”…..
Thanks Brian !!

A nova has been discovered in Scorpius, and (surprisingly)

This is another discovery by Hideo Nishimura using a
200mm telephoto lens + digital camera. The best position
seems to be: 17 38 19.22 -37 25 07.8 (J2000). This is a
bit southeast of the Stinger of Scorpius. The event
has been spectroscopically confirmed. It is about mag 12,
and may become brighter in the coming day or two.
