Thirteen people have registered for the Mormon Mountain Star Stare, which
will be held the weekend of May 30 to June 1, 2003, at Antelope Park.

The star party is limited in attendance to fifty (50) people. CAS is keeping
this event fairly small for two reasons. The first is that we want to
demonstrate to Coconino National Forest staff that such an event will have
minimal impact on the forest. The second is that, this being the first major
star party hosted by CAS, we want to keep it manageable in size. Finally,
we're holding this event to seek input from other amateurs about the
suitability of Antelope Park as the site of a large star party. If the star
party is a success, CAS fully intends to make the Mormon Mountain Star Stare
an annual event with increased attendance to accommodate what we hope will be
significant interest from amateur astronomers around the region.

Due to the 50-person attendance limit, interested persons are required to
register with event coordinator Bill Ferris. Registrations will be accepted
on a first-come, first-serve basis. There is no registration fee. Just send
me an email and I'll get back to you to confirm your registration. Here's my
address: billferris@xxxxxxx

For more information about the Mormon Mountain Star Stare, including
directions and applicable Coconino National Forest rules, please visit the

Hope to see you there.
