I’ve always loved M83 but imaging from the north is challenging. It was
difficult to obtain a balanced level of RGB due to its lower elevation. This
image is very color neutral and with the higher resolution than I could ever
capture with my TEC140 its a joy to view. Nice job with the processing! George

I have always admired Martin's work and decided to give the subscription a
try, especially since the scope is in Australia. It gives me a chance to
process southern hemisphere objects I would otherwise never be able to
acquire. The cost, I think, is pretty reasonable. It is less than what you
would pay for site costs at most places, even if you went in with others to
divide the cost. And you don't have the startup expense of buying and
shipping a system to Australia. Finally, the data Martin acquires, judging
from the first two objects I have worked on, is very high-quality data. If
you are looking for a chance to get some of those southern hemisphere
objects you can't get from up north, I would highly recommend giving this a
try.
My first image using Martin's data is M83, also known as the Southern
Pinwheel Galaxy or NGC 5236. It is a barred spiral galaxy about 15 million
light years away in the constellation Hydra. It is one of the closest and
brightest barred spiral galaxies in the sky and is visible with binoculars.
