M42 is also my favorite and has been for over 50 years.
Both of your M42 images are awesome, but I like the 6-filter version for the
variety of colors. It also clearly shows the four stars/doubles at the
center. A lot of other images bleach out those stars.
Your work is fit for a coffee-table book and amazing, especially for
earth-bound imaging.

Subject: [AZ-Observing] M42 (The Orion Nebula in 6-Filter narrowband)
Hi,
Not to flog a dead horse, but I reprocessed M42 using a technique from Ken
Crawford called 6-Filter color mapping. Basically, it extends the normal
narrowband color mapping process by adding in the RGB masters, creating a
composite image that is the combination of all six filters (Ha, SII, OIII,
R, G, B). I gave it a try, and I have to admit I like the results. Lots of
detail and the stars are not magenta. See what you think.
Comments and suggestions appreciated.
