Folks who have never visited Flagstaff and want a bit of a reference
to the milieu at the Lowell Anderson Mesa site might have a look at the
two-page Meade advertisement on pages 14-15 of the December 2005 issue of
'Sky & Telescope' once it arrives. These are our 1.8-m (foreground) and
1.1-m telescope domes in winter. Yes, that's about 30cm of snow on the
ground. Attentive readers will recognize that the image is flipped
left-to-right, not from having been there, but because Lepus and Orion
(partly obscured) are reversed.
Though the 1.1-m dome shutters are open, and the telescope visible
inside, most of us might well have slept that night (per the banner text
of the ad) since the sky is cirrusy and the Moon rather bright.
No, I don't know who took the photo.
