Jon, that certainly is a great picture of a difficult object. The responses with additional information are also appreciated. IC 2574, which is a dwarf irregular galaxy located in the M81/M82 group. I took it from McDowell Mountain park, which has more light pollution than I'm used to. This galaxy has a highly studied supergiant shell region (on the right in this image) that is still expanding. http://www.christensenastroimages.com/galaxies/ic2574.htm Jon Christensen -- See message header for info on list archives or unsubscribing, and please send personal replies to the author, not the list. -- See message header for info on list archives or unsubscribing, and please send personal replies to the author, not the list.
