Took a break from packing up my house for a few minutes to observe McNaught at 2:29 in the afternoon. The photos are not great success, but it is a recognizable comet! Used the Canon 20Da on the TV-76. Signal to noise is not good as there seem to be a lot of aerosols in the sky today over Tucson. The tail is visible to the left (east) of the coma away from the Sun. http://www.siowl.com/photos/C2006P1McNaught20070114.jpg The view is better with a Mark 1 eyeball at the eyepiece.
