I am a little behind in my magazine reading. Remember magazines?
I was reading the April issue of Sky and Telescope which contained an
article about the Messier Marathon run from higher latitudes in the US and
Canada. It refers to the more favorable conditions in lower latitudes like
Arizona, and quotes an AZ "expert observer" by the name of Tom Polakis. Tom
gives the observing window to catch all 110 objects, and some other
geographic specifics. I guess when a major national publication like Sky &
Telescope looks for some expert advice from Arizona they contact Tom. Nice
recognition Tom!
