Subject: HCLPD Program Announcement
The application process for the 2010 Health Care Leadership Development
Program is now open through June 15th. This program will replace what
was formerly known as the ECF Candidate Development Program. This
program is open to Title 5 & Hybrid Title 38 - GS-13, 14 and 15, Nurse -
IV, and Physician Tier 2. Applicants cannot currently hold permanently a
pentad or Quadrad (executive career field) position. Questions regarding
the program should be referred to Ronald Massey.

Subject: HCLPD Program Announcement
VISN Directors and Chief Officers:
The Health Care Leadership Development Program (HCLDP) is a program for
senior managers to develop effective leadership. HCLDP targets
high-potential management professionals and provides the foundation for
further development. The goal of the program is to provide a
foundational leadership development experience that will enhance the
candidate's skills and provide VHA with effective leaders at the manager
level.
HCLDP consists of five week long training sessions spread over a one
year period focused on personal leadership, leadership agility, leading
others, and organizational leadership. Upon successful application, you
will enter the year development program while remaining in your current
position. The program is an expansion of the VHA's Health Care
Leadership Institute (HCLI), and includes developmental assessment
centers to provide you with valuable feedback to grow both as an
individual and within the organization.
The application for the HCLDP opens May 17, 2010 and will close on June
15, 2010.
Eligibility Requirements:
* Cannot currently hold permanently a pentad or quadrad
(executive career field) position
* Title 5 & Hybrid Title 38 - GS-13, 14 and 15, Nurse - IV, and
Physician Tier 2
* Additional information for Nurse III, GS-12, and non-career
waivers is included in the attached announcement.
Applicants may only submit applications if they can commit to attending
all training during the dates noted below.
* Week 1 - February 13-18, 2011
* Week 2 - April 3-8 and April 17-22, 2011 (block both, you will
attend one)
* Week 3 - July 10-15, 2011
* Week 4 - September 11-16, 2011
* Week 5 - December 5-9, 2011
