The Price by Lieutenant Commander Anthony Manson and Senior Lieutenant Alder Shimbrodus Alder paced about their quarters, wondering when Anthony would get back. He felt edgy, as if he needed to occupy himself instead of being distracted. The doors wisped open and Anthony put his combadge on the table. "About time." Alder said with relief. Anthony hardly felt relieved. This wasn?t going to be pleasant at all. "How long has he been on board?" "A few hours, we can make our move here," Alder pointed out to the schematics he drew up from the computer. It was Javan?s office. "Or here," he pointed at the quarters, "either will work. In fact, the codes should work at any place." Anthony nodded, "I think quarters will do. A little ironic really, I was dragged in this shit in my quarters, I guess I?m going to end it there soon." Alder looked at him as his entire attitude felt like a ghost had touched him, "how.. How did the talk with the Captain go?" "Went well actually. I don?t care if that man heard our talk, but I gained the Captain?s backing," Anthony replied thoughtfully. "You involved the Captain," Alder smirked in disbelief, "we can?t have the captain in this." "Yes we can, and we?re going to. Anything," Anthony looked at him, "almost anything to get him off our backs will be worth it. And I got my question answered." "Sierra is with section." "Yeah, kill him or use him. He won?t be much use either way. They?ll be after him, and after him means they?ll keep using us." Anthony shook his head, his voice went quiet, "that means it ends with Sierra. We have to kill him." "Don?t think we can." "It doesn?t matter what we think," Anthony replied, "all the matters is that we do it, and we do it quickly." Anthony avoided Alder?s gaze. Anthony literally felt his partner?s gaze on him. It was filled with fear, anxiety, nervousness, the list went on. "Don?t worry, Alder. It?s not you that?s going to do it. I need you on the bridge." Alder frowned, "on the bridge? What am I suppose to do on the bridge?" "This," Anthony turned, taking Alder?s hand and putting a chip on his palm, "this will let you observe the entire thing. You can help me from the bridge, and you can also steer away anything that might jeopardize this.. Plan." "You were about to say, ?mission? weren?t you?" Alder peered into those grey eyes. He nodded, his eyes half closed in response that he was tired of all this, "yeah. I was about to say that." "You?re becoming more like them." "No," Anthony gave a tired laugh, "I?m just trying to push them away. Far away." "And they?re getting to you, slowly." Anthony shrugged, "it?s worth it. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo! Mail has the best spam protection around http://mail.yahoo.com
