"Georgia and Changes"
written by:
Georgia Lewis, Chief Nurse

Georgia wasn't one who used to change of any kind. Change did
nothing but cause difficulty in the way things were done. Everyone who was
doing
things one thing one way had to change to do it in another way. All it did was
create mass confusion.

She hadn't really had a chance yet to work with Dr. Roan, but with
every new person there was bound to be something done differently. It was
almost a certainty. She especially didn't like change right in the middle of
mission where people were suffering from radiation sickness and the crew could
possibly be exposed to this same sickness. Yet even years from when it was
originally written she was bound by the nurse's oath to help and serve those
who are
injured or in need of help.

Georgia put away her thoughts of change and began work on the
antidote to the radiation sickness. She was going to have to develop enough
antidote
and inoculations to inoculate the entire crew. There again she knew the crew
was not going to be at all happy about receiving a shot just to go on a rescue
mission. But as usual it was her job and she was bound to do it.

She had enough inoculations ready to go and inoculate the bridge
crew. She informed Dr. Roan and Dr. Rashon that she was going to the bridge and
inoculate the crew. She grabbed her bag that was full of hypo's and additional
vials of inoculations. She left sickbay and went to the nearest lift and told
it to take her to the bridge. She leaned against the wall and waited. Perhaps
she would get a chance to talk to Cmdr Skyler.

The lift opened onto the bridge, and Georgia walked out. As she
entered the bridge she looked around and saw that Cmdr Skyler was sitting in
her
usual spot, while Waterson was at helm and her counterpart was at helm.

She walked up to Skyler and informed her that she was there to
inoculate the bridge crew.

"Cmdr, I need to inoculate the bridge crew against the radiation
sickness before they go aboard the Allegiance and attempt a rescue. With your
permission I would like to begin the inoculations Ma'am."

Skyler looked at Georgia with a bit of surprise. She usually did not
act so formal. She wondered what was going on with her.

"Permission Granted, Ms Lewis and when you are done I would like to
speak with you in my office. You can begin your inoculations with me. Someone
has to show these people that there is nothing to be afraid of."

Skyler presented her arm to Georgia and listened as the whoosh of
the hypo as the medicine was injected into her arm.

"Thank you Ms Georgia, as I said I would like to see you in my
office after you are done."

"Yes, Sir, Cmdr Skyler. I will report to your office soon. This
won't take long."

Georgia continued her rounds on the bridge and inoculated the bridge
crew, including Waterson, Sierra, Karg, and the Captain as well. Once she was
done she packed up her bag and then reported to Cmdr Skyler's office.
