"An Ensign's Loyalties Part 2"

Written By: Ensign Michael Bailey

Ensign Bailey sat alone in his quarters remembering what Javan Sierra last said
to him, "If a word leaks out about what happened here, you'll get yours."
Michael did not respond well to threats, that is where Javan made a huge
mistake, but Michael still had to choose his loyalties. He now knew that Javan
Sierra was an aparent threat to Starfleet as it was quite apparent he sided
with Section 31 and made that abundantly clear when Javan Sierra murdered
Cassandra Kellik on the Allegiance.

So it was down to this, side with Starfleet, or become as bad as Section 31 and
side with Lieutenant Commander Javan Sierra. This brought back memories he
thought he put away. As a child, his parents always discussed Section 31 issues
but he never knew what they were talking about till recently. He discovered his
parents were Starfleet turncoats who sympathised with Section 31. Michael had
betrayed his parents by joining Starfleet but he didn't care. If his parents
were willing to turn to corruption then guide their son on the right path, he
decided not to care about their wishes or desires any longer.

For the first time in his career, Ensign Michael Bailey was facing a life
altering change. Not one person can help Michael influence his decision, this
was his choice, and his alone. The consequences for either choice were pretty
high. But he did have one advantage over Lieutenant Sierra. Before leaving on
the away mission, Ensign Bailey knew something wasn't right and was able to
align his comm badge with his crew quarters computer and made a recording of
the entire conversation between Brad Ruder, Cassandra Kellik, and himself and
Lieutenant Commander Javan Sierra, enough to implicate him in treason and
murder.

What Ensign Bailey could not figure out is why Javan murdered Cassandra and
until he learned that, his decision stood as an investigative one, To find the
truth, and to learn which side he would benifet most by siding with. It was no
longer a question of morals as he learned he did not have any or else he would
have killed Sierra on the planet instead of questioning him for his role in
Kellik's death. So, what was Michael Bailey going to do? Even himself, did not
know the answer to that question. At least....not yet.
