Anietie, Chika,

salaams. I hope that you and the rest of the folks here?re all doing fine.
Anietie, Chika?s right and my first name, Nyankami, maternal, means ?one who
milks?, the middle one, paternal, means ?something bitter? while the surname,
Atandi, means ?someone fierce.? All the ?i?s in the three names?re pronounced
as the e in me. Among the Kisii, names?re unisex and were after events.
Actually the world over, if one was to go back, one?ll find that all names?ve
their roots after events.

My first was after my mother?s aunt. Back in the country, I?ve a maternal
namesake aunt. The middle one, I was named after my grandfather?s uncle and the
last, directly from my old man, stemmed from a cousin to my grandfather. Now,
we?re named after the departed in order to ensure the lineage survives the
vicissitudes of times.

Winona, my dear fiend, the movie ?The Life Of David Gale?, for now what I can
tell you?s that it?s a good watch ? if I gave any further details, that?d be
equivalent to removing the flavor of it.

Wishing all a pleasant day.

Nyankami.
