In case anyone's interested, I've got a sort of an answer. These .wmz =
=66iles (.wmz vector graphics, not .wmz Windows Media Player skin) are =
rather puzzling things, but I've come up with this:

1. The original problem was to extract vector graphics images from a =
Word file. I saved the Word doc as HTML in the time-honoured way and go=
t=
.wmz files. BUT when I finally tried the obvious: copy-and-paste =
straight from Word into vector graphics software (Illustrator) it worke=
d=
and I got a file I can work with.

2. But if you do happen to have a .wmz file, how can you handle it=3F =
There's only one software in the known universe that can handle .wmz: =
Word. So create a Word doc, insert picture, then copy-and-paste into =
vector graphics software.

My thanks to the Adobe guru with whom I threw this problem around, =
without whose help this solution probably wouldn't have occurred to me,=
 =
even if it obvious now I think about it.
