I have a copy of a letter from the 'Defence Personnel Executive =
complaint
resolution agency' in Canberra that states quite clearly that private
recruting firms are not to state that having a current or recent Defence
security clearance is a condition of employment.
The Canberra contact is Ms Jan Colegrave 02/62668255
The letter also states that there will be a 'whole-of-Government =
position on
this matter' determined at the next meeting of the 'Commonwealth =
Protective
Security Policy Committee'.
The letter is dated 21 November 2002 and was forwarded through the
Commonwealth Ombudsman. This letter is a result of a complaint from =
Colin
Dawson (Pres. of the STC) to the Commonwealth Ombuds man.
