Hi all,
Haven’t really got any new light to shine on this but just thought I would
throw in my experience. I have encountered similar problems when trying to save
a Projects. The standard Windows dialogue box would appear and when I navigate
to my external hard disk which is my usual location for saving projects
occasionally it will just freeze. It’s kind of similar to when an external USB
hard disk wakes up after not being used for a while but obviously it last
longer. No I did initially put this down to maybe my external hard drive
starting to fail I’m not entirely convinced by this . Also, I’ve recently
updated to Windows 11 I thought that may be part of the issue with Windows
trying to index the contents of my rather large external hard disk. All of
course it could be a problem introduced with the latest update to audacity I
just don’t know at this point. So there you go, no real help I’m sure but just
wanted to add that I’ve accounted similar problems with hard disk lock ups when
in audacity.
Thanks, Sean

Hi all,
Well, I spoke with Ted on the phone for about an hour yesterday and
had him stumped. The only theory we could come up with is that my hard
drive is about 70% full, which was causing things to slow down. I
would have thought though that I would be experiencing more problems
than just Audacity. The other thing that's puzzling here is that when
I open Audacity first, I don't have the problem, even when I open
other applications with Audacity still running. However, if I then
close Audacity and reopen it, it locks up as described earlier.
