Before embarking on Steve's eminently workable but time-consuming
suggestion, here are a couple of questions.
My first issue is that I do not fully understand how you are laying out your
project. Are the tracks set up so track 2 follows on from track 1 etc so
that when you export you have one long recording? Not that where your
tracks are positioned should affect things, but I am just trying to
understand your process.
You said that you only have one track selected. Not that I doubt you, but I
will ask the question anyway. Have you specifically unselected tracks you
are not working on? Note that arrowing - say - from track 1 to track 2 does
not deselect track 1. On each track that you do not want to be selected,
arrow to it. The screen reader should tell you whether it is selected or
not. To be sure, press Enter and that will toggle the status. Make sure
that the screen reader announces that each track is not selected and then
press Enter on the one you want to clean up. When done with it, deselect it
with the Enter key before selecting the next track with the Enter key.
Let us know (a) if the above makes sense and (b) how you get on.

Hi Larry,
Some of the wonderful folks on this list may laugh at me for this suggestion
but here I go. You may want to start all over again and first trim the
extra space off the beginning and end of the project. Then go through and
cut down the space between tracks to where you want them. Then split the
tracks. Like I said, just a suggestion that would work using my limited
knowledge of this great program.

There's something I'm not understanding. I'm following directions to split
new tracks from a selected track and am successfully getting my project
tracked. However I have excess material at the beginnings and ends of some
tracks and can't for the life of me seem to get rid of it without messing up
the whole project. I have just the track I want selected but it still wants
to spill over the track boundary to other tracks. Any suggestions?
