welcome to the list. Do you use Windows or Mac os x?
If you use windows there's a guide to Audacity for Jaws users, and which is
also nearly all applicable to users of nvda and window-eyes:

As you may already be aware, Reaper would be an alternative to Audacity. It's
got more functionality, but probably a bigger learning curve,
