Hi Mike, concerning splicing files together so that they play one after the other, here's an alternative to the method suggested by Gale. If you export to mp3, then the tracks are automatically mixed so that you get a single track. If you import some tracks into an audacity project, they all start at time zero. If you want the audio in one track to start when the audio in the previous track ends, one way of doing this is to move the audio using align tracks sub menu, which is on the tracks menu. It would go something like this: 1. import the files into the project in the order you want them to play. 2. press ctrl+shift+a to deselect everything. 3. select track one (enter toggles whether a track is selected). 4. press k to move the cursor to the end of the audio in the selected track. 5. deselect the track. then repeat the follow steps for the remaining tracks 1. move to the next track and press enter to select it. 2. on the tracks menu, open the align tracks sub menu, and choose align with cursor. The audio in the track is time-shifted so that it starts at the cursor, which you'd previously moved to the end of the audio in the previous track. 3. press k to move the cursor to the end of the audio in the selected track. 4. press enter to deselect the track. Once you've recorded separate multiple files in Audacity, how do you splice them together, so that they'll play one after the other in numeric order as one long file? 2. Is it possible to edit mp3 files? 3. When you start a recording in Windows Sound Recorder, it will automatically stop recording after about a minute's worth of time has past. However, when making a recording in Audacity, how much recording time do you get? 4. Is it technically possible, to set Audacity, so that it will record in mp3 format? I'm currently using Audacity version 2.0.3. Thanks. Mike Rochester, NY.
