Hi Gary,
adjustable fade is included with Audacity, and you should find it in the
Effects menu.

Is adjustable fade part of audacity or on the website?

Adjustable fade slipped my mind when replying to Gary. Less complex than
Text Envelope, which has advantages and disadvantages. Both are great
tools.

The "Adjustable Fade" effect allows you to fade from one level to another:

Hi list.
How do I lift or drop a volume in a selected part.
When I select a part and click amplify, it just jumps to the new
volume abruptly.
I want it to faid from the one volume to the next.
Almost like a faid in or out.
Except from where the volume is to the volume where I want it to be.
Thanks in advance,
Gary.
