sounds like you may have software playthrough enabled. You can change the
setting either on the transport options sub menu of the transport menu, or in
the recording category of the preferences dialog.

on and got a lot of feedback. Then I tried again and it sounded like a

More details please. Do you mean you were hearing a delay through headphones
when recording, the recording was echoey, there was latency between tracks etc.
