Hi Andrew,
I think it was latency. When I first tried recording I didn't have
headphones on and got a lot of feedback. Then I tried again and it sounded
like a diminishing echo. I hope this helps.

More details please. Do you mean you were hearing a delay through
headphones when recording, the recording was echoey, there was latency
between tracks etc.

I just tried the rc release of audacity When I recorded a test I got a lot
