Hello, I'm brand new on this list, but I have a question. I use audacity 2.3.3
and I'm wondering is there a way I can make my track sound as if I'm talking to
somebody over the phone? I know it's a crazy question, but can it be done?

I have used an M-track audio interface for the past five years and it works
great. However, you will want to get an XLR or 1/4 inch Y splitter so that your
microphone can plug-in to both the left and right channels. Call me a little

Depending on how much you plan to spend, you may be able to dispense with your
analogue mixer completely. Something like the Behringer Q502 mixer retails for
around $160 but is available for $130. For that you get a single mic input
with fantom power and stereo (or two mono) line in and some extra niceties.
And there are certainly less expensive (and vastly more expensive if you want)
options.
Regardless of the USB interface you choose, provided of course it outputs
stereo, Audacity will have no trouble recording from it. Having connected it
to a USB port before launching Audacity, it will show up in the playback and
record combos. It will probably just be called something like USB codec.

Hi all,
I'm thinking of buying a USB interface with dual1/4 inch inputs.
I would then like to run my analog mixer into the USB interface using both
inputs to get stereo.
Does anyone know if I can use Audacity to record left & right channels at the
same time. for example, using the mixer to pan left & right prior to recording
to audacity.
I'm not sure if I have explained this properly but hope someone can help.
