Hi Rich, when you record: - if no time range is selected, then the recording starts at the cursor position and continues until you press stop (or run out of disk space). - if a time range is selected, then the recording starts and ends at the start and end of the selected time range. It sounds like at some point you selected a time range going from the start to the end of the short track, and this was still selected when you recorded again. There's no need to select a time range covering the long track, just press home which deselects any time range and moves the cursor to time zero. This is true even if the short track is deleted. I find that I must go back up to the longer drums or guitar track, select the track, and use j and shift-k to select all of that audio before I can record another longer track. This is very inconvenient and time-consuming. I cannot determine why such a limitation exists.
