Billy,

I think those posts you read were from another list, I don't
recognize the subjects you mentioned.

Audacity has been true multitrack recording software for years.
Version 1.2.4 is a stable release but is awkward to use with a
screen reader doing multitrack editing; version 1.3 is an unstable
release but has a beautifully accessible way of doing multitrack
editing, selecting tracks and so on. 1.3 is still in development.

Which version are you using?

the note you read about two tracks probably refers to the ability
to simultaneously record only one or two tracks at the same time
and no more, at this time. Meaning that if you have an 8 channel
sound card, you would only be able to record two tracks (two
inputs) at the same time to separate tracks in Audacity.

What do you mean by you can't record two tracks? That you cannot
record a stereo signal or that you are unable to record a second
track after recording a first one?

That aside, you can get a free demo version of Window Eyes from
www.gwmicro.com/window-eyes/demo/ , which you can use for an
unlimited time, but the computer needs to be rebooted after thirty
minutes to re-start Window Eyes.

Hey, Guys!

Okay, I know that this was discussed a few weeks back, but I didn't know if there ever was a solution to the problem. Basically, I am a JAWS user, and would like to do a multi-track recording using Audacity, but as was noted by another user, there isn't any apparent way for a JAWS user to select tracks. Is there any solution to this problem, other than obtaining a demo version of Window Eyes?

Secondly, I gleaned from the audio tutorial found on the audio files page of the Website, that one can currently only record two tracks in Audacity, but that, hopefully in the future, there will be true multi-track recording capability. Am I correct in this assumption? I would test this theory, but I can't even record two tracks yet, much less more. <smile>

I appreciate all comments, and cannot wait to learn more!

Billy
