Hi Grant

You did not mention whether you had loaded some audio into Audacity.  If
not, pressing arrows and tab would do nothing.  Here are some initial
suggestions, which will probably raise more questions.

Assuming you have a mic or some other input connected, pressing r will start
recording.  Press spacebar to stop recording and spacebar again to play
back.

Pressing alt will activate the top menu.  Well worth exploring that to get a
sense of what is possible.

If you prefer audio tutorials, I have mumbled my way through several on this

Audacity-intro.mp3 is probably the best one to start with.  To bring an mp3
file into Audacity you can either use control+o or choose Import from the
File Menu.

Subject: [audacity4blind] Navigating Audacity using JAWS

Hi there.

I have downloaded Audacity and keystrokes for functions. But when I click on
my Audacity desk top icon and it opens up, I don't know how to navigate as
the Tab nor Arrow keys have any effect as JAWS remains quiet no matter what
I do.

Is there something I need to activate?
