Ernie,
I was the one who didn't like the results. I didn't know Robert's settings
either.

Hi
I never said that I wasn't satisfied with the result. After all, I wrote the
effect and am happy with it..
It is just a matter of knowing the limitations and possible ways around it.

Thanks for helping.

May i know which effect is that?
https://alphamanual.audacityteam.org/man/Vocal_Reduction_and_Isolatio
n You might have to enable it if it is not in the list.
The best is to only apply it to sections that have vocals (i.e.
phrase by phrase) so that the quality is preserved for the rest of the song.
Ask if you have further questions.

There is an effect that attempts to remove the vocal track from an
MP3.
However, it has been my experience that this effect does not work
all that well nor does it work all that well in gold Wave and
other like audio editing software packages. by the time you have
removed the vocal track, the song is so horribly distorted it is
not worth the effort.
There are some criteria that have to be met in order to get a
decent result.
- The vocals should be in the center and hopefully not sharing the
space with other instruments.
- There shouldn't be too much reverb
- The file has to be in stereo
- Removing the vocals reveals artefacts due to lossy compression
(mp3) Here's a typical snippet taken just now from a YouTube video
and it is therefore not ideal.

5riG39O_iAdDYT27_EqHI I've used Vocal reduction and Isolation for
that, the diverse parts
are:
1. Original
2. Remove vocals, strength 0.7071, to stereo 3. Strength 1.0, to
mono 4. Same, to Stereo 5. Highest Strength, to stereo Filter is
120 to 150 Hz and below 13 kHz.
The chirp sounds you hear are typical for mp3 compression, a
de-esser might help.
The remaining voice is due to reverb which is typically panned hard
left and right.

Hello everyone!
Just wanted to ask, is it possible to remove the voice on
finished
mp3
file and make it minus 1 or instrumental?
