Say you have 50 tracks. You want to move track 39 up above the one the
track with the whatyamacallit on it, which is about 10 tracks up.
With the context menu:
app key u app key u (cross left under right) app key u app key u (or
maybe left on u and right on app) app key u app key u app key u (oops to
fast) app key u (is that 6 or 7) app key u ((yes dear I know this is
just a game to you and what you want (something for dinner) affects
lives) app key u (are we there yet) app key u.
(okay hands, normal places!) Check it, Oops, it's only 9 tracks-- app
key d.
With the Audacity keys assigned but without the scripts:
Control+Shift+UpArrow... but without feedback.
With the scripts:
Control+Shift+UpArrow... as you hear the names of the tracks you are
moving over.
or
JAWSKey+a,m 30 ENTER
or
JAWSKey+a,m -9 ENTER
or
Arrow to whatyamacallit
JAWSKey+a,k (mark track)
Find the track you want to move
JAWSKey+a,M (move current to marked)
or
find the track you want to move
JAWSKey+a,k (mark track)
(I think I wanted it at 30) JAWSkey+a,g 30 ENTER
(yup) JAWSKey+a,x (back to track to move, mark where you were)
JAWSKey+a,M (move to marked, mark where you were)
(oops, move it back) JAWSKey+a,M
DownArrow (oh, here it is)
JAWSKey+a,M
(Note that since this works by simulating keystrokes, Undo won't undo it.)
This is all fine if it works, but since we're generating keystrokes the
system might get behind. It works on my machine (but I haven't done
that test in a while). If it doesn't work on other machines we'll have
to find out why. (I know, there was another message in this thread
about it not working-- I'll look at that but I feel a "do something
valuable" request coming any minute :-)-- kitty litter? Dish washer?
Clean the sink? I tell her if I don't do it right now it will still be
there later but that doesn't seem to give any comfort!)

I can verify both of these.
Quick question; why do we have a script for moving tracks around when it is accessible through the context menu (applications key)?
Thanks!,

Subject: [audacity4blind] Re: JAWS Script for Audacity-- new beta (2.1.0-beta3)
Hi Gary,
I tested some of the script using Jaws 14, and Windows 7 64bit. I came across a couple of issues:
1. The commands to to to a track by number or move the current track to a track by number didn't do anything. (JAWSKey+a, g, and JAWSKey+a, m).
2. In the toolbars, pressing ctrl+tab causes Jaws to read grabber. I'm pretty sure there's a keyboard focus issue with the grabber which is at the start of each toolbar, and that it can be fixed for the next version of Audacity.

Hi all,
I have just posted a new beta release of the JAWS script for
Audacity. This release features installer changes for
multi-language support. Currently English and Spanish are
supported. Silence Preview has also been updated to support
Audacity 2.1.2.
I am particularly interested in feedback from people with
non-English JAWS installations, since I don't have access to such an
environment.
Please note that although the installer installs and compiles the
scripts into the selected language folders, the JAWS script compiler
always compiles the script files for the language of the
currently-running version of JAWS. Therefore, after installing you
will need to run JAWS with each of the other languages and compile
the scripts "manually". This is a kind of silly implementation but
it's the best I've come up with so far given the way the script
ompiler works. I am open to any suggestions!
The script has a new home. The script is now hosted on GitHub. You
can download the 2.1.0-beta3 installer here.
The installer exe for the current "official release" is also there (although not the same binary file, it should have been built from the same source and should be functionally equivalent).
You can view the latest README. (This may be newer than the one in the beta 3 release.)
Let me know how it works for you.
Thanks.
