there's an incorrect link on one of the website pages which I posted to
this list. The correct link to mac screen reader version is:

Audacity on Windows is more accessible than this version, and so as Andrew
has said, can be a source of more fun. The windows version works well with
Jaws or NVDA, but not that well with Narrator (though that could easily be
fixed at some stage, if there was a demand).

I just checked out the page and find it rather bewildering. There is a
link to version 2.11, but no mention of a screen reader version.
Silly me had a copy of that version, but did not keep a copy after leaving
a job where I had access to a Mac (slaps wrist).
If you can find a copy of 2.11 screen reader version, it works reasonably
well with VoiceOver. I boldly assume it works on the current Mac OS.
My own bias is that there is rather more fun to be had with Audacity on
Windows with screen reader of choice, including Narrator. That assumes
that you have access to a Windows machine and are comfortable with a
Windows screen reader.
There are (I hope still) people on the List who use Audacity on Macs.
They can give more detailed comments on limitations on the Mac.
