Are minutes 1 and 2 on the same track? Or tracks 2 and 3 with the music on
track 1?

Hi,
In regards of autoduckit is possible to apply this method twice on a track?
Let’s say I use autoduck to combine some words at a minute 1 but also another
words on minut 2.
For s ome reasons I couldn’t do it properly.
Adrian Tamasan.

Audio ducking is more used in backing music that isn’t going to be faded to
silence typically.Andrews method for this is spot on. I agree with what he has
done. Sometimes though to be different, I will use the audio ducking method and
then towards the end fade to silence. Again, this is just to make things
different.

Hi Sarah
Annoying antivirus software. I rely on Windows 10 to keep out the nasties and
have not had a problem over many years.
But to the issue at hand. the music starts at the beginning but is on a second
track. That allowed me to apply silence (from the Effects Menu) to track 1
where the music was. I then deleted some of that silence to bring your voice
forward so it overlapped with the music. I then applied a fade out to the
music, starting several seconds before you started talking. I wanted the level
of the music to be low enough when you started talking so your words could be
heard easily.

Hi Andrew,
Thank you so much for this – sadly I think I have far too vigorous Windows
Defender settings and it wouldn’t let me download your file but from what you
describe that’s exactly what I want.
When you say you delayed my intro what did you do there i.e. did you insert
some silence to push the intro along a bit? I hope this makes sense….it’s not
late here but I’ve ahd a very busy day!!
Thanks again.
Sarah

Hi Sarah
I had a quick listen to your podcast and love the intro. To get the effect I
think you want, autodocking is not the answer. What you have done works fine.
As an alternative, I have done this version
<https://www.sendspace.com/pro/dl/tc0afw> . If you download that file and
press enter on it you will have an Audacity project.
I put the music onto track 2 and left your voice on track 1 but brought it
further forward so it overlaps the music. I then did a long fade out on the
music. It could be argued that the level of the music could be dropped more
quickly at the start, but it is getting late here.
Anyway, good stuff on your part.
Andrew

Hi Sarah,
Congratulation for your efforts to learn all of this and, of course, for your
podcast launch.
Can I know the name of your podcast please?
I have one too, called Accessible Computer.
Best Regards,
Adrian Tamasan

Hi All,
Yes this is another novice question!!
I’m quite pleased with msyelf that I’ve done the first short trailer episode
for my new podcast and it’s now on Spotify, Apple podcasts etc!! The editing
isn’t perfect but actually those who’ve listened to it don’t seem to have
noticed too much!!
Anyway one thing I would like to be able to do to imrpove future episodes is to
be able to fade the intro music down so I can speak over the alst few seconds
of it with my spoken intro but I can’t work out the best way to do this – any
suggestions / advice?
I’ve tried using the fade in the effects menu of Audacity but this didn’t do
what I wanted.
All help greatfully received!
With best wishes,
Sarah
