Hi!
Since you are using a Yeti you can connect headphones to the headphone jack and
then listen to yourself with no lack at all.
You do not need to monitor via Audacity or any other app, except if you realy
want to.
I had one of these myself, so I tested it quite a lot.
If you want an app with the most minimal lack at all you can do one of two
suggestions:
* Mintor your microphone via Garageband.
* Download and install the free Linein app. Get it from here:

Many thanks for your help. I figured out that I had to turn off quick nav,
and if I pressed up arrow, I could move the cursor to the next track, and
press return on it.
I should mention that I am primarily a Windows user. However, my old Mac,
which had a Bootcamp partition was recently stolen, so I had to get another
Mac. I’m still working on getting Windows. But in the mean time, I have to
get used to this.
Another question. I am using a Yeti Blue Stereo microphone with Audacity on
the Mac. One really big problem is that it seems very latent, because when I
talk into the microphone, it takes around three hundred milliseconds for me
to hear back what I said. As a result, it interrupts what I am saying and
therefore I am not able to do well when I monitor myself in real-time, with
such a delay as that. I had previously used this microphone with my Windows
computer in Audacity, and I never really had any delays. I never had any
delays with the built-in microphone input or stuff like that. So I am
thinking that something is going on. I also used the Yeti with Garage Band,
and didn’t experience any delays. So I am convinced that it has to do with
Audacity reading my microphone.
I would appreciate some help with this.

When you press return on a track you should hear a click from Voiceover if
sound effects are turned on.
When using CTRL-option or capslock L you should be able to hear the status
of the track, being selected or unselected announced by Voiceover.

Hello, all,
My name is Ulysses. I heard about this list after doing some google
searches. I found out that there is a version of Audacity optimised for
Voiceover on the Mac. That version is 2.1.1Screen Reader. Unfortunately, I
am having some trouble selecting individual tracks. I use Audacity for
multi-tracking, and sometimes I need to change one or two tracks, instead
of everything. I find that pressing enter only works some of the time, but
I am wondering if one has to do anything special to locate a specific track
and then select it with return.
I would appreciate any help wit this.
