FWIW, I did some searching in the job databases, looking specifically in the computer/IT/communications area, and could find NO jobs for "Document Writer" -- everything was for Technical Writer or Procedural/Technical Writer, with a vast range of skills and experience required, from entry-level to very advanced, and from no technical knowledge to primarily a "techo" with writing skills. (In fact, some job search sites, eg Seek and JobNet, have "Technical Writer" as a choice, but not "Document Writer".) I think the relevant thing is that the standard job title in the industry is "Technical Writer" -- possibly qualified by "Senior" or "/Programmer" or "/Engineer" for those with more experience and/or more technical qualifications. The title "Document Writer" is NOT standard or commonly used. Hope this helps.
