what message comes in ur alert.log file ?
because db_block_buffer parameter is deprecated in 9i by DB_CACHE_SIZE
parameter.
so my suggestion is instead of db_block_buffer , u use db_block_size
parameter...
                                                                       =

Also, DB_BLOCK_BUFFERS cannot be combined with the new dynamic =

DB_CACHE_SIZE parameter; combining these parameters in the same parame=
ter
file will produce an error. DB_BLOCK_BUFFERS is retained for backward =

 compatibility. =

                                                                       =

                                                                       =

                                                                       =
