Dear Bhas,Mostly overlapping chapters. Along with that the Srote Calendar came
up, as it focuses on 12 botanical families. We felt that Marathi version can be
a teaching aid for high school classes.Will be writing a comprehensive mail, on
various aspects related to the training.

The calendar is being translated and will be over today. Will check Shilpa's
time availability and will ask Shilpa to do the inputting.I notice few
things about the calendar. (1)Translating just the boxes and making them in
5th colour is not all.In marathis we have two 'la' while in Hindi there is
only one. Hence Mangalwar is written differently in Marathi. That means in
all months week title "Mangal"will have to be different in Hindi and
Marathi. (which is not in 5th colour ritht now)/Same problem with the work
Kul (meaning family in botany). The Family names will have to be different
in Marathi and Hindi, so these have to be changed from present colour to the
5th colour.
(2)In one place a tulasidas doha is used which is not quite relevant for the
Marathi people. In one place it is said "Dhaak ke teen patte" . In hindi the
work dhaak and palash are used for the same tree but in marathi there is
only one word palas.In any case the translator has taken a bit of freedom
and done this part.
(3)Coconut that we get to eat is the coconut seed is a very common knowledge
in Maharashtra and it does not make much sense to mention this in a separate
box; I feel.
(4)I think there is a mistake about placement of Gulmohar family, will cross
check with some other botanist and Kishor and get back. If it is a mistake
then you may have to make changes in the artwork.
(5)I am getting the months part translated, but there is some introduction
and info about chakmak, strot and sandarbh. Should I ask for translating
that part also?
