Dear Subbu and Amman,
Thought about it and discussed with others. One clear possibility is that
Kumar Gaurav interns with the Asharam Shala imitative located at Dharani, with
the team. As this is primarily a science initiative, he can can focus on some
of the science/social science interface areas. Also, EVS for class-5 that has
both the components. Also, depending on his interest, can work with middle/high
school students and youth in the surrounding villages, in the Dharni intensive
engagement area.
We have been allotted two quarters in Dharni, and the set up will be up and
about by month-end. So, he can reach Bhopal next Monday or later and then,
shift to Dharni as soon as everything is in place.
It will be good if Subbu can provide broad mentoring. Madhav and the local
coordinator can take care of regular interaction and planning.
Does it help?

Dear Subbu,
This is to ask you about another possible internship :-) Kumar Gaurav is a
bright and hard-working young man from a small town in Bihar. He did 2-3
courses with me and I was impressed with his hard work and regularity and his
continuous intellectual growth.
He has been asked to de-register from this, his last semester in MA, by the
university authorities. The reason is that he went home at the end of the
semester for his sister's wedding and due to some issues there got completely
distracted and did not submit his last assignments for 3 courses. To
everybody's shock that led his grade point average to fall into the "fail"
level and as per the university rules he has to de-register and repeat his
second year again from July. We are all stunned that such a thing could happen
to a bright student like him. But "rules are rules".
He says he is most interested in social science education. Is there some work
regarding social science education you can give to him at Hoshangabad for some
days, or even months? He does not need a salary. Getting boarding and lodging
would be nice, of course.
Do please see if something is possible and tell me. He is willing to join up
right away.
I should mention that his English is good enough to read quite difficult texts
in social theory. His bachelor's degree is in Political Science from a small
college in Bihar. He is a thoughtful person and would be very dedicated to
whatever work he is given.
best wishes
