Dear ASCCT Member:
In the last several months we have gained many new members, and so your
Officers wanted to provide you with this email to outline some of the benefits
and key details of ASCCT membership. Please feel free to contact any of us at
any time with questions, concerns or ideas for activities or engagement.
Your home for information on the Society is
www.ascctox.org<http://www.ascctox.org>. There you will find a listing of the
current Board Members<http://www.ascctox.org/about/board.cfm>, a few upcoming
events<http://www.ascctox.org/meetings.cfm>, how to renew your
membership<http://www.ascctox.org/membership1.cfm>, and a member
section<http://www.ascctox.org/login.cfm>. You can contact the officers using
the email addresses below.
Annual Meeting: Thanks to all who participated in the last annual meeting. The
next annual meeting will be in Research Triangle Park, NC on Oct 1-2, 2015. If
you would like to join the planning committee please contact the Secretary.
Stay tuned for speakers and abstract submission details!
New Board Members Elected: At the recent annual meeting, new board members were
elected, including new President David Allen and member Katy Goyak. Please join
us in thanking them for their service.
Membership: In two weeks we will send targeted reminders to renew your
membership, if you have not already done so. To save time, consider renewing
now. It is now possible to join or renew your membership for 2 years at a $10
discount. Renewing is simple, and helps us continue to conduct meetings,
webinars, and other educational and outreach events.
Member Listserv: As a member you can send a message to all other members via
ascct@xxxxxxxxxxxxx<mailto:ascct@xxxxxxxxxxxxx>. You can access an archive of
the list discussions at
www.freelists.org/archive/ascct<//www.freelists.org/archive/ascct>.
Webinars: Webinars are held every two months. To accomplish ASCCT’s mission of
education and collaboration, webinars are open to all, however ASCCT members
receive access to recordings of all previous webinars via the member section.
If you have ideas for webinar topics or would like to give a webinar yourself,
please feel free to offer suggestions. A recording of the most recent webinar
is now available on the web site.
Member Section<http://www.ascctox.org/login.cfm>: The password for the member
section is ASCCT2013. There you will find a member directory, presentation
slides from past annual meetings, a newsletter archive, and an archive of all
past webinars, which are easy to play right from the web site, in case you
missed the live event.
Newsletters: Volunteers have formed an editorial board, which aims to produce
the next newsletter on or around July 1st. Please feel free to send the
Secretary<mailto:ksullivan@xxxxxxxxxxx> ideas for articles, topics, or events
for the newsletter, and any contributions to the list of ASCCT member
publications from the last six months.
Associated Journals: As a member, you are eligible for a discounted
subscription rate to the journals ALTEX and Toxicology in Vitro of $60 and $142
respectively. Please contact the Secretary<mailto:ksullivan@xxxxxxxxxxx> if you
would like to take advantage of this benefit.
Sponsor Organizations: The ASCCT is in need of organizational support to
continue to hold webinars, meetings, and provide young scientist travel grants.
Please encourage your organization to contribute to this new society; contact
the Treasurer<mailto:ehill@xxxxxxxx> if you have any questions or would like to
facilitate a donation.
Member Directory: The member directory is updated every year and contains name,
affiliation, and email address. To opt out of being listed in the member
directory, please email the Secretary<mailto:ksullivan@xxxxxxxxxxx> by June 1.
On behalf of the Board, we are pleased to have you as a member, and look
forward to working with you to promote in vitro and in silico toxicology test
methods.
Sincerely,

David Allen, President<mailto:dallen@xxxxxxxxxxx>
Erin Hill, Treasurer<mailto:ehill@xxxxxxxx>
Kristie Sullivan, Secretary<mailto:ksullivan@xxxxxxxxxxx>
