Yes, you get a3way with something many times and you think it's safe or the reports are exaggerated. Until it happens to you. Nitrous Oxide is a big one which is handled routinely daily but has killed people including a friend of mine.
On safety issues, it's important to learn from other people's experiences, not only your own, because you might have just been lucky (so far).
