But be very sure you're using the right welding procedure and weld wire. Using the wrong weld wire (straight Ti rather than 6Al-4V), plus some generally sloppy quality control and extensive pressure cycling, once resulted in a spherical helium tank's girth weld letting go under pressure on a test stand. One hemisphere went down into the flame trench. The other went up through the full length of the stage and out the top, and was never seen again. Followed closely by the Earth Shattering Kaboom as a fully-fueled S-IVB with a 2ft hole suddenly punched through it, let go...
