Good catch; I was too focused on the final design there. Maybe change
that to "...and the Scud has an inertial guidance system that can

Well, yes, the A4's inertial system wasn't very good. :-) Of course, it
was the first of its kind, so it can be excused a certain lack of polish!
I was once treated to a tour of the Alamogordo Space Museum with G.
Harry Stine and John Paul Stapp as my guides. (No, I didn't record it -
yes, I'm still kicking myself.) One of the exhibits at the time was a
V-2 inertial guidance system, and they talked a bit about how setting it
up involved some seriously skilled technician-time. (They had both been
involved in firing V-2's out of White Sands back in the day.) I recall
there were quite a few small potentiometers to adjust - a dozen, two
dozen? - but alas, no further details.
