Ive been thinking about a labyrinth seal for the pumps that would be
easy to make.

Perhaps we should make a new shaft for the electric motors (these
shafts can be replaced) Machine small disk on the new shaft and split
the lower half of the pump housing at the shaft?

One way to do this would be to bolt 2 pieces of aluminum together
before machining the housing and do all the work on it then split the
housing and with a tiny silting saw put the matching parts for the disk
in the housing?

I think for starters you could also put a hole in the housing below the
seal (slightly larger than the shaft) and blow some air threw there to
get rid on any leakage to safe place. (before it can get to the motor)

This might also help with the mounting of the impeller because on the
end of the shaft you could have a tulip there for a few screws to hold
on the impeller.

You could also do all the machine work on the impeller mounted to the
shaft and then balance the whole assembly as a unit after?

What do you think?
