FAA clearance for a high altitude amateur launch can be gotten with sims
run on RocSimPro at (still) $1000 per copy. That, however will not run the
ascent to orbit problem nor does not have an optimizer.
I have never worked with nor heard of an ETO optimizing program that was
either easy to use or low cost: the market is very small and buyers tend to
already be knowledgeable about some other very hard to use software. Thus
market forces tend favor high cost and difficult to use.... This an
obvious opportunity for someone who cares some about producing a high
quality product and not much about making money.
Rather like the space launch business, actually.
