I'm familiar with vacuum brazing and dip brazing in general, but don't
have facilities for either one. I'm assuming sending parts out to be
brazed will both take a lot longer and cost a lot more than doing it
myself. I'm hopeful that I can learn to torch braze competently
enough, and with few enough practice pieces, that this remains true
even when fully accounted.

Does anyone have good resources to suggest for braze joint design
guidelines?
I don't. But I should point you to Reaction Engines. They furnace
braze the precoolers for the SABRE engines in a vacuum brazing furnace
with an internal volume like a minivan.
